Chimney Cleaning
Chimneys have more than simply smoke pass through them over the years. Along with dust, ash, and other debris that builds up over time (see the third photo below), they also get the occasional visit from our furry friends like squirrels, raccoons, opossums, and birds. They can bring other trash and debris and sometimes will even make themselves a home in chimneys. This build-up of debris can create a multitude of hazards like fire and a failure for smoke to properly exit the stack. Ensuring the cleanliness and efficiency of your chimney is a task our Certified Chimney Sweep is more than capable of.
Fire Prevention
There are several things that indicate when you should have your chimney cleaned and serviced: smoke coming back out of the fireplace and into the room, a lingering smell in the room even with no fire lit, soot and debris continuously building up, and more. If you're having issues like these or similar, please call us at (901) 445 - 7601 so we can come and take a look. Proper service and upkeep is very beneficial in ensuring that your chimney does not turn into a fire hazard. Our Certified Chimney Sweeps are professional in identifying any hazard and providing any cleaning or work necessary to mitigate them and ensure the safety of your home and its occupants.
When do I know I need to get my Chimney inspected and cleaned?
Although we are more than happy to come and take a look for you, if you'd like to be familiar with the signs of a "Chimney in need" there are several things you can quickly check yourself. One of the most obvious signs is smoke being blown back into the room, which would indicate a blockage and build-up of debris. If you started noticing a lingering smell or have noticed soot and debris falling and building up in your fireplace, these are also indications of debris build-up. Also, if you've noticed that your fire is not burning as well or strong, it's very likely to be a blockage preventing the smoke and ash from escaping. It would be our pleasure for our professional team to come and perform these inspections for you, however, if you have already noticed some of these indicators please call us so we can come and get your chimney back to being as efficient and safe as possible.
